Jackie and Jacob’s wedding at The Oaks at Hooks Farm in Swainsboro, Georgia was everything a southern fall wedding should be — heartfelt, joyful, and filled with the kind of laughter that keeps the day light and full of life. The Oaks at Hooks Farm is one of my favorite venues in South Georgia, with its open fields, classic white pergola, and the most romantic golden-hour light. It was the perfect backdrop for these two to say “I do.”
Their Story
Jackie and Jacob’s love story began in Minnesota, where they met by chance and instantly clicked. As Jackie says, it was love at first sight. After their very first conversation, they were inseparable. They spent every moment together, already knowing it was something special.
Two and a half years later, Jacob planned the sweetest proposal at a local state park. On a beautiful swinging bridge surrounded by nature, he got down on one knee. To make it even more meaningful, his entire family flew in from Georgia to surprise and celebrate with them.
Engagement Sessions
Before their big day, I had the joy of photographing Jackie and Jacob’s engagement sessions — not once, but twice! We first met last October (2024) for a cozy fall shoot filled with soft light and their sweet pup. Then, earlier this year, we met again for a second session that felt relaxed, fresh, and full of genuine laughter with a bridal twist.
Seeing their connection grow from those early sessions to their wedding day was so special. It truly felt like watching a beautiful story unfold.
The Ceremony
Their ceremony took place beneath The Oaks at Hooks Farm’s signature white pergola, draped with soft white fabric and timeless florals in ivory and green. With a rustic wooden cross standing behind them and sunlight filtering through the trees, it created a classic Southern scene that felt deeply personal.
Officiated by Pastor Mark Swet, Jacob’s pastor, the ceremony was heartfelt and genuine. Even their dog sat close by, perfectly content to witness the moment his humans became husband and wife.
The Celebration
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an evening full of good food, great music, and the most charming details. One of Jackie’s favorite touches? The espresso martinis and coffee truck — a fun and personal detail that kept everyone fueled for the dance floor.
From the first dances to the heartfelt toasts, every moment radiated warmth, laughter, and pure joy. Jackie and Jacob’s energy was contagious. Their smiles never faded, and you could truly feel the love all around them.
The Vibe
When I asked Jackie about her photo preferences, she said she loved both fun and romantic photos — but if she had to choose, it would be fun. And that’s exactly what we captured!
From their joyful walk back down the aisle to their playful moments together, every image reflects a couple who love life and each other. Their happiness was absolutely effortless.
